One Reddit user has captured the attention of the community with a post detailing a PC-DIY experience that lasted over 100 hours while updating the BIOS for a motherboard. Ultimately, the results were not as expected. In the latest post, GoatWithAGun, the owner of the PC, reported the unfortunate news that their well-known computer had become “completely unresponsive” after the display lost signal.
“At 2:14 PM Philippine Standard Time, my monitor lost signal from the PC, and when I turned back, it was completely unresponsive to any further actions,” GoatWithAGun shared in the memorial post.

This incident has attracted thousands of followers on Reddit, with continuous updates regarding the BIOS status of the BioStar A320MH motherboard. Initially, the BIOS update process was performed to enhance system stability. However, the prolonged BIOS flashing process, which dragged on from 24 hours, then 48 hours, eventually exceeded 100 hours. As of today, the final screen still remains blank, and all hopes for a successful conclusion seem to have faded.
Despite the unfortunate outcome, the owner of the PC still holds some hope for recovery. Other components like the AMD Ryzen 3 1200 CPU, 4GB DDR4-2400 Kingston HyperX RAM, Asus GTX 1660 graphics card, 128GB Transcend SSD, and 480GB Crucial SSD remain intact and could potentially operate well on a replacement motherboard.
However, GoatWithAGun seems not to be ready to give up just yet. This individual revealed that a BIOS recovery program is currently underway – and perhaps, with a spare BIOS chip on hand, they might find a way to resurrect the motherboard that has been “bricked.” If they are only dealing with the BIOS software, the chances for repair still exist.
Even though many users have shown support, GoatWithAGun acknowledges that some Reddit members have started to create new threads regarding this ongoing saga. It seems that if they continue to experiment with BIOS recovery, new information may not appear on Reddit anymore.
Nonetheless, the community remains engaged in this ongoing story, and who knows? Perhaps this BioStar A320MH will have an extraordinary revival.
