Most films based on historical events often contain a few notable differences and inaccuracies compared to actual history. Their primary purpose is to bring creativity and artistic value to filmmakers. There are instances where a character’s clothing appears historically inappropriate or unintentionally features a song that had not yet been composed during the depicted time period. Additionally, there are significant alterations that can confuse the audience, such as a historical character being portrayed as a superhuman. However, there are also some films that take great liberties with history, as highlighted in the following eight examples:
Apocalypto (2006)
300 (2006)
10,000 BC (2008)
Inglourious Basterds (2009)
Pocahontas (1995) and Pocahontas II (1998)
