Hachinosu is one of the most notorious pirate islands in the world of One Piece. Particularly, it now serves as the territory of the Blackbeard Pirates. In the past, however, it was the base of the legendary Rocks Pirates.
So what makes this island so intriguing? Let’s explore the fascinating facts surrounding Hachinosu!
1. Known as Pirate Island

In One Piece, Hachinosu (translated as Beehive Island or Fullalead) is famously known as Pirate Island. It is said that this location has a high concentration of pirates and is often bustling with activity.
With its rugged terrain and historical significance, the creator of One Piece has always emphasized the importance of this island in the story.
2. Located in the New World
Hachinosu is a significant location in the New World, a part of the Grand Line. Chapter 925 introduced this island as “New World, Pirate Island Hachinosu.”
3. The Origin of the Davy Back Fight
In chapter 306, Nico Robin briefly mentioned the rules of the Davy Back Fight. It turns out that Hachinosu is the birthplace of this competitive game among pirates.
4. The Formation of the Legendary Rocks Pirates
In chapter 957, Sengoku described the Rocks Pirates as a notorious pirate crew that was established on Hachinosu many years prior.
For many years before the events on this island, numerous infamous characters gathered here to find the ultimate treasure and fame. This gathering led to the eventual downfall of the Rocks Pirates, a crew known for its extreme danger. The headquarters of the Rocks Pirates was also located here.
This crew is notorious for being one of the most infamous pirate groups in history. Aside from the well-known members like Edward Newgate, Charlotte Linlin, Kaido, and Shiki the Golden Lion.
In a flashback regarding Kaido in chapter 1049, we also see Kaido being “recruited” at Hachinosu.
5. Ochoku Once Ruled Hachinosu
Ochoku, or Wang Zhi, is one of the names mentioned by Sengoku in chapter 957 as part of the Rocks Pirates.
In chapter 1059, it was revealed that Koby assisted the Marines during the Rocky Port Incident, and it is implied that he may have encountered Ochoku, who was once the “boss” of Pirate Island. Thus, before Blackbeard became the new leader of Hachinosu, the island was once ruled by Ochoku.
6. Pirate Island is Under the Control of Blackbeard
After defeating Ochoku, Blackbeard became the new ruler of Hachinosu, turning this notorious island into the headquarters of the Blackbeard Pirates. Currently, Hachinosu is under the control of a Yonko.
