In August 2023, One Piece fans in Vietnam will have the opportunity to welcome the return of the legendary pirate captain Luffy in the new blockbuster titled One Piece Gold.

This film is expected to be a major hit, having already grossed over 1.1 billion Yen (equivalent to more than 200 million USD) since its premiere in Japan. This revenue corresponds to approximately 820,830 tickets sold, helping One Piece Gold top the box office rankings in Japan.
Toei Animation has projected that the film will soon surpass a revenue milestone of 6 billion Yen (over 1.2 million USD) and hopes to establish itself as a “golden goose” for the studio.
For those who are not aware, One Piece Gold is the 13th animated film in the One Piece series, following the previous installment, One Piece Film Z. The storyline of this new film is entirely distinct from the current manga chapters, yet it has been well-received by fans.
In the film, the Straw Hat Pirates, led by Luffy, will face off against the antagonist Guild Teroso, a villainous owner of the Gold franchise. He is the owner of Gran Teroso, a major entertainment conglomerate, and controls an astounding 20% of the world’s current wealth.
One Piece Gold is set to be released in Vietnam starting August 26.
