Set to premiere in 2016, the film adaptation of Death Note from Japan has captured the attention of the Otaku community with its continuation of the storyline from the original manga. To provide more insights into this film project, the production team of Death Note has released a new teaser featuring various scenes and entirely new characters from this adaptation.

In this latest teaser, audiences will follow the daring actions of the character Sakura Aoi, played by Rina Kawaei, a member of the AKB48 group. Sakura Aoi is one of the characters that will appear in the 2016 Death Note film. This character is portrayed as a beautiful girl with a dark and sadistic side, taking pleasure in killing her victims.

The film’s scenes take place in the streets of Tokyo, where a series of people are attacked on the bustling roads. Sakura Aoi, the perpetrator of this chaos, appears to be enjoying the panic experienced by those around her as they try to escape the deadly situation.
The main character, Ryouzaki, played by Sousuke Ikematsu, also makes several appearances. He is depicted as a professional investigator akin to L from the original series, showcasing traits that highlight his intelligence and unique personality, aimed at providing comfort to the audience regarding this character.

Additionally, the teaser reveals new images of the Shinigami Ryuk along with other characters such as Inspector Tsukuru Mishima and Mina Fujii as Shō Nanase, an investigator tracking the Death Note case.

A noteworthy moment in the clip that fans have pointed out is the appearance of a different colored Shinigami, which, although briefly shown, has intrigued fans and left them eager for more. This Shinigami is expected to be one of six Shinigami that will appear in this film.
The film Death Note: Light Up The NEW World is set to begin screening on October 29 this year.
