Ben Affleck is currently in London to shoot scenes for his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the upcoming DC film titled Justice League. Reports indicate that the primary antagonist in the film will be Deathstroke, a well-known character in the DC superhero universe, introduced in a short clip.
As soon as this clip was released, many fans quickly recognized that the character featured was indeed Deathstroke. This scene serves as a test for the upcoming standalone Batman film, with Ben Affleck reprising his role as Bruce Wayne.
According to reports from The Warp, Deathstroke will be the primary antagonist, directly opposing Batman in this standalone film. However, before appearing in this main role, Deathstroke will be introduced in Justice League through a few cameo appearances.
The clip showcasing Deathstroke shared by Ben Affleck
The news of Deathstroke’s appearance in the DC film universe was first announced in early 2016 when Marc Guggenheim, the showrunner for the TV series Arrow and The Flash, revealed that Slade Wilson – Deathstroke would be featured in several upcoming DC film projects. In fact, Deathstroke has already made early appearances in the Arrow TV series.
Currently, the identity of the actor portraying Deathstroke in the clip shared by Ben Affleck has not been disclosed.
For those who are unfamiliar, Deathstroke is one of the most beloved characters in the DC Comics superhero universe. His real name is Slade Wilson, and he is a former soldier who has participated in numerous military campaigns. After undergoing a government experiment, Deathstroke’s abilities were significantly enhanced, making him a formidable super-soldier.
Deathstroke’s strength has been increased to ten times that of a regular human, with enhanced senses allowing him to utilize up to 90% of his brain at once (the theory states that a person typically only uses 10% of their brain), making him a master tactician and strategist.
With the introduction of Deathstroke, many fans are hopeful that the standalone Batman film will not only feature intense battles but also a compelling rivalry between two of the most iconic characters in the DC Comics universe. If so, the film is expected to take a completely different approach compared to previous superhero films.
