Originally, the film was scheduled to be released on July 24, 2017. However, the date was later moved up to March 24, 2017. This is considered a rather bold decision for Power Rangers to avoid competing with other blockbusters like Wonder Woman, The Mummy, and Transformers: The Last Knight.
Which target audience is the film aimed at?
Currently, the MPAA has not yet rated Power Rangers, and although the producers have stated that the new Power Rangers will be “much more adult” than the previous children’s version, it is likely that the film will still be rated PG-13.
What is the main storyline of the film?
After some debates over whether Power Rangers will continue the storyline from the TV series or be a complete reboot, it has been confirmed that the new Power Rangers will retell the story of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers in a more contemporary setting, while keeping the original characters and their essence intact.

He is the leader of the team; in the previous version, this role was played by Austin St. John, while in the new version, this character is portrayed by Dacre Montgomery.
Pink Ranger – Amy Jo Johnson

Black Ranger – Zack Taylor
He is the very quick and agile member of the team; in the new version, this role is portrayed by Ludi Lin.
Blue Ranger – Billy Cranston
In the previous version, this role was played by David Yost, while RJ Cyler takes on this role in the new version.
Yellow Ranger – Trini Kwan
We have seen the transformation of the Yellow Ranger in the film when she is captured by the evil Rita Repulsa, and this character is played by Becky Gomez.
Rita Repulsa
Rita Repulsa is an extra-terrestrial villain who is incredibly evil and is the main antagonist that the Power Rangers team must confront in this film. Rita’s design will be reminiscent of Poison Ivy from the DC Comics universe, and this character is portrayed by Elizabeth Banks.
Zordon
The mentor and guide for the Power Rangers team – Zordon, will be portrayed by the talented actor Bryan Cranston, who is famously known for his role in the iconic series Breaking Bad that captured the attention of the entire nation.
