It has been 6 years since the release of the seventh installment of the Saw series, titled Saw: The Final Chapter. At that time, fans were left wondering whether the series would continue with an eighth part. However, the news has officially emerged that the next installment of this iconic horror series will be called Saw: Legacy and is set to be released at the end of this year.
Initially, many reports indicated that filming would commence in September of this year. However, a subsequent update from Bloody-Disgusting revealed that the official title for the eighth installment will be Saw: Legacy, with filming scheduled to take place between September 12 and October 21.
If the information from the above source is accurate, the film will be produced by Dan Heffner and Oren Koules. These two producers are currently in the process of developing the main storyline for the Saw character (who, in earlier installments, has already met his demise). However, it’s worth noting that the narrative of this upcoming installment may not revolve around Jigsaw, the legendary figure who has inspired the entire series.
The storyline of Saw: Legacy will continue from Saw: The Last Chapter and will feature the return of former character Lawrence Gordon at the end of the film. The narrative will also involve a survivor from the first Saw installment, who will continue the legacy of the Jigsaw killer in this eighth film.
