Fans of the iconic character Lara Croft will soon have the opportunity to reconnect with their beloved heroine in the upcoming reboot film adaptation of Tomb Raider (2001), originally portrayed by actress Angelina Jolie. The release of this reboot version of Tomb Raider is scheduled for March 2018.
According to the film’s production announcements, Alicia Vikander will take on the role of the adventurous archaeologist Lara Croft. Notably, this version will focus on the character’s origin story, and Vikander’s portrayal is expected to be quite fitting.
Shortly after the release date for Tomb Raider was announced by Warner Bros., many excited fans quickly noted that its premiere is set for the same month as another superhero film from DC, featuring Ezra Miller as The Flash.
However, there are also concerns that Warner Bros. might not be too confident with this film adaptation, prompting them to reschedule The Flash’s release to avoid a box office clash with Tomb Raider in March.
As such, the official release date for Tomb Raider has been confirmed for March 18, 2018. Let’s stay tuned for more updates and new images related to this highly anticipated film adaptation in the coming weeks.
