Do you remember the iconic trio of Manny, Sid, and Diego from the Ice Age franchise? After 14 years since the release of the first film, Blue Sky Studios has introduced three more installments. The upcoming fifth film, titled Ice Age: Collision Course, is set to hit theaters in Vietnam on July 8th.
In Ice Age: Collision Course, audiences will be reunited with familiar faces from previous films, while also being introduced to many new and exciting characters. This film aims to provide both new viewers and dedicated fans of the Ice Age series with a deeper understanding of the origins and personalities of the beloved characters featured in the fifth installment.
1. Manny, Sid, and Diego
The main characters, Manny, Sid, and Diego, first appeared in the original Ice Age film, where they had to navigate the challenges of raising a human baby in a comedic yet heartwarming storyline. While Diego initially had ulterior motives to capture the baby for Soto, the journey transformed their bond into a genuine friendship, overcoming many obstacles together.
The recurring theme in the Ice Age films often revolves around the trio facing various challenges, embarking on grand adventures, and ultimately realizing the importance of friendship and love. In Ice Age: Collision Course, the beloved voices of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, and Denis Leary return to voice Manny, Sid, and Diego once again.
2. Scrat
Scrat, the acorn-obsessed saber-toothed squirrel, voiced by Chris Wedge, has been a fan-favorite since the first film. Although a supporting character, Scrat’s relentless pursuit of his acorn often steals the show, providing comic relief throughout the series. In the fifth installment, Scrat’s antics inadvertently lead to the creation of a catastrophic event akin to the Big Bang, affecting the entire universe.
3. Ellie

The secret is that we are really, really stupid.”
6. Buck
