In 2017, the legendary King Kong will return to the big screen with the official title Kong: Skull Island. This film is considered a special installment that will open up a long-term future for the iconic giant ape in the global film industry until at least 2020.
In Vietnam, Kong: Skull Island has garnered even more interest, especially since earlier this year, the film crew traveled to Vietnam, bringing many sets and a large crew to film in stunning mountainous regions of the country.
It is worth noting that Kong: Skull Island is the sequel to Godzilla (2014) and serves as a stepping stone in preparation for the upcoming battle between these two legendary monsters in the film Godzilla vs. Kong, which is expected to be completed by 2020.
Currently, details about this film project are still being kept under wraps. However, the film’s director, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, has revealed that the size of King Kong in this installment will be truly impressive. “This will be the largest King Kong you have ever seen; it won’t just be 3 meters or 10 meters tall, it will have to stand at a towering height of up to 30 meters.”
This revelation from Jordan Vogt-Roberts shows that the version of King Kong in Kong: Skull Island will be much larger than any previous version we could imagine of this iconic character. However, when compared to the actual height of Godzilla, King Kong still seems to be at a disadvantage. If filmmakers want to create a fair fight between these two monsters, King Kong will need to be “buffed” in terms of strength in future installments.
Kong: Skull Island is set to be released on March 10, 2017.
