The film is set in a future world where the zombie plague has nearly wiped out humanity, transforming them into bloodthirsty creatures. A small group of children, although infected, still manage to retain their humanity and struggle to find a way to survive in this dangerous world.
Ouija: Origin of Evil (October 21)
In 2014, the film Ouija achieved significant box office success, prompting Blumhouse to produce a sequel titled Ouija: Origin of Evil. The film is set in 1960s Los Angeles, where the members of a family unwittingly use a Ouija board to communicate with spirits from the afterlife. The result is that these malevolent entities manage to possess family members, leading to a chaotic and terrifying situation.
Rings (October 28)
The Ring is considered one of the most compelling horror films of all time and has become an iconic entry in the horror genre. The film is based on the Japanese original Ringu, which features a cursed videotape that induces terror in many viewers. In the story, the main character Julia and her boyfriend Holt inadvertently discover the curse surrounding Samara Morgan.
Shut In (November 11)
The film features Naomi Watts and young star Jacob Tremblay. In the film, the actress, known for her role in King Kong, plays a child psychologist living in isolation in rural New England. However, when winter arrives, she must find a way to rescue a boy trapped in a house before it’s too late.
Incarnate (December 2)
Incarnate is directed by Brad Peyton and stars Aaron Eckhart as a man with the ability to enter the consciousness of possessed individuals. He becomes involved in the case of an 11-year-old boy who is haunted by numerous mysterious occurrences.
Keep Watching (December 2)
Keep Watching is a psychological thriller that features numerous suspenseful elements interspersed with horror. The story centers around the Mitchell family as they become victims of a home invasion, forcing them to play deadly games that lead to terrifying consequences.
A Monster Calls (December 23)
A Monster Calls premiered at the recent Toronto International Film Festival 2016, and it falls into the fantasy genre with notable horror elements. The film follows Conor O’Malley, a boy who frequently finds himself bullied at school. Each night, he has conversations with a monster that appears to help him forget his troubles. However, one day, the monster reveals its true purpose and creates chaos for the entire town.
