After the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, there were various opinions suggesting that actor Ben Affleck could only portray an internalized version of Batman, especially considering his age. However, he managed to showcase some strategic “mind-hack” abilities of this character.
The observations above are quite accurate, as in the film, viewers mostly see Ben Affleck’s Batman in a defensive role, especially during the battles with Superman, where he seems to lack significant offensive capabilities. When fighting Doomsday, he appears to struggle, and only at the end does he finally get a bit of support to confront this monstrous opponent…
Recently, a new Easter egg in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has been revealed, showing that Ben Affleck’s Batman meticulously planned for this battle far beyond what we see on screen.
The screenshot captures Ben Affleck’s Batman preparing against unique opponents and bears the symbol Pb on his armor. This detail has been overlooked by many viewers, including hardcore DC fans, during the film.
According to Warner Bros.’s explanation, Pb is the symbol of the only metal that can penetrate Superman’s defenses. Therefore, even though Superman might be strong, he cannot be aware of the special armor that contains… Kryptonite.
This subtle detail underscores that Ben Affleck’s Batman has been extremely prepared for the battle, having researched his opponent’s weaknesses meticulously. Moreover, he doesn’t just rely on Superman’s weakness to Kryptonite but also on all other battle capabilities such as energy beams and penetrating vision… to ensure he is well-equipped against Batman.
If so, then Ben Affleck’s Batman could be seen as a version of the character that is meticulously prepared compared to the comic book counterpart, wouldn’t you agree?
