In response to a BBC interview, Callum McDougall – the executive producer of the 007 film series – expressed that Daniel Craig remains the “first choice” of Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson for the iconic action franchise. These two individuals are the key figures behind Eon Productions, the company that has been producing 007 films for over 50 years.

When asked about whether Daniel Craig is open to returning, McDougall replied: “I know what I can say in response. We love Daniel and want him to come back as Bond. It’s clear that Daniel is the first choice of Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. I believe that they are hopefully waiting to hear from him.”
McDougall also mentioned that if Daniel Craig is ready, the role of James Bond in the next film would likely be British.
Over the past 50 years of the 007 brand, Daniel Craig has been the sixth actor to take on the lead role of James Bond, with his debut being in Casino Royale (2006). In the last decade, he continued to feature in Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), and most recently, Spectre (2015).
However, at 48 years old, he has often expressed reluctance to continue in the role during previous interviews, especially before the release of Spectre in the fall of 2015. He even stated in an interview with Time Out that “the only way it would be possible for me to return to a 007 film would be if they cut off my hands.”
There are reports that Eon Productions began searching for the “next James Bond” immediately after the release of Spectre, with several prominent names like Tom Hiddleston, Damian Lewis, and Tom Hardy emerging as potential candidates.
In September, sources indicated that Eon is prepared to offer Daniel Craig a staggering $150 million to return for two more 007 films.
However, Vanity Fair assessed that this is unlikely, and it seems the public will not get to see “Golden-haired James Bond” on screen again in the future.
