After a long wait, the third standalone film featuring the iconic character Wolverine has finally released its poster on the same day as its official premiere. The film is expected to be simply titled… Logan, and it is set to hit theaters on March 3, 2017.
For Marvel fans who closely follow news about superhero films, it is already known that this movie is adapted from the comic storyline titled Old Man Logan. However, it is quite surprising that Fox chose such a simple title.
For those unfamiliar, Wolverine 3 – Logan is the third standalone film focused on the character Wolverine, portrayed by actor Hugh Jackman.
Previously, during an interview with Collider, producer Simon Kinberg confirmed that the film would indeed be happening. Despite some twists and turns in the conversation, the production team has also acknowledged that actor Patrick Stewart will be part of the cast. Importantly, the film will be rated R (restricted for violence and adult content).
Additionally, the film will introduce a new character, Laura Kinney, also known as X-23. This character is considered a clone of Wolverine, possessing similar abilities and adamantium claws of her own.
Many fans are eagerly anticipating that Logan will be a fantastic final chapter for Hugh Jackman’s portrayal of Wolverine, especially as he feels he has aged out of continuing to play this role.
