After nine seasons, *Game of Thrones* has undeniably become a phenomenon in the television landscape with an enormous audience. The hype surrounding this series has led to the creation of many memorable characters like Tyrion, Daenerys, Jon Snow, and Hodor. Notably, some characters appeared briefly but made a lasting impression on the audience. One such character is Lyanna Mormont, a fierce 10-year-old girl who quickly became the fan-favorite “badass” of the series.
It only takes 5 minutes to realize that she is far superior to Daenerys (actually, Daenerys is just a rich girl who drives around in “Me Before You”).
The character’s description is quite concise. She is named after Lyanna Stark, the younger sister of Eddard Stark. Lyanna Mormont’s mother is Maege Mormont, a warrior who fought alongside Robb Stark in the War of the Five Kings. According to family tradition, she is the sister of “Lord Friendzone” Jorah Mormont, who is currently causing a stir across the Narrow Sea.
A fierce warrior, strong as a bear
At the beginning of season 6, Maege was confirmed to have passed away, although it is not clear whether it was during the Battle of the Bastards or elsewhere. Therefore, Lyanna had to take on the responsibilities of her mother at just 10 years old. The tradition of women having to bear the burden of leadership has shaped Lyanna Mormont into a strong character. When Stannis sent a letter requesting support, she firmly rejected him, stating that House Mormont only supports House Stark.

Only when Davos Seaworth presented a compelling argument did Lyanna finally relent. In the Battle of the Bastards, the fight was not merely between rival houses, but a struggle for survival against the living and the undead. In the end, Lyanna provided 62 men to Jon Snow’s cause, which was a significant boost to his army. The Mormont women also fought valiantly alongside Jon as he marched to confront Stannis.

With her bold demeanor and fierce attitude, Lyanna quickly captured the hearts of every viewer. Ironically, Lyanna’s strength also contrasts sharply with that of Rickon Stark, the youngest Stark child who was captured by Ramsay.
