Although it has been launched since the film *Man of Steel* by Zack Snyder in 2013, the DC cinematic universe only gained significant attention from global audiences after the release of *Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice* earlier this year, paving the way for the debut of a series of standalone films featuring iconic superheroes such as Aquaman, Batman, The Flash, Cyborg, and Wonder Woman.
The first trailer for the standalone film dedicated to Wonder Woman was introduced by Warner Bros. during the Comic-Con event held this summer. This trailer revealed to the audience the first images of Themyscira, the homeland of Wonder Woman, where powerful Amazon warriors reside. Here, Diana – Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) meets Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine), the man who will capture her heart later on.

After making a strong impression with the initial images, Warner Bros. continued to release a second trailer featuring scenes of Diana leaving Themyscira to follow Trevor during World War I.
Notably, this second trailer prominently featured the encounter between Steve Trevor and Wonder Woman, giving viewers a clearer insight into their relationship. Additionally, the breathtaking visuals of Themyscira’s natural scenery and the inhabitants of this mythical land also made a significant impact on the audience.
Despite the intense anticipation from fans and the general public, the standalone films in the DC Comics universe released last year have yet to garner the success that was hoped for. Both *Batman V Superman* and *Suicide Squad* have sparked considerable controversy within the film community, often seen as not living up to the standards set by Marvel films.
Nevertheless, the standalone film about Wonder Woman is set to premiere in 2017 and continues to attract global audience interest, especially given its unique setting during World War I, along with the stunning presence of actress Gal Gadot.
The film is directed by Patty Jenkins with a screenplay co-written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, and is slated for completion and release on June 2, 2017.
Several striking images are also noteworthy in the trailer.
