The manga serialized in Shonen Jump+ by Yukinobu Tatsu – Dandadan is set to premiere its anime adaptation in the Fall of 2024. The story follows two high school students, Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura (Okarun), who encounter ghosts, extraterrestrials, and monsters during their adventures.
Momo has a strong belief in the supernatural, heavily influenced by her mother, while Okarun is intrigued by the idea of aliens. Both characters embark on a bet to prove their beliefs are valid. However, they soon discover that the dangers they face are far more significant than they initially imagined.

This sci-fi supernatural anime rapidly captivated audiences with its engaging storyline, stunning animation, and compelling characters. The second part will be released following the conclusion of the first season, continuing the adventures of Momo and Okarun.

The artistry of Yukinobu Tatsu is well-regarded for its intricate details and evokes a sense reminiscent of Junji Ito. The manga features slightly muted colors compared to the anime, yet it has received high praise in its own right. Besides Dandadan, Shuhei Lin also highlighted the critically acclaimed anime adaptation Look Back, based on the one-shot by Tatsuki Fujimoto.
