Having a role in the Marvel cinematic universe is currently a dream for many actors in Hollywood. It serves as a significant opportunity to elevate their careers and reach new heights within the global film industry. However, not all actors are particularly enthusiastic about this idea, as is the case with Norman Reedus, the lead actor who plays Daryl Dixon in the series The Walking Dead.
Previously, as Daryl’s name became increasingly associated with The Walking Dead and drew more attention from filmmakers, a rumor surfaced that Marvel was planning to revive the Ghost Rider film, with none other than Norman Reedus in the lead role.
This rumor quickly spread and garnered considerable support from fans who were excited about the idea of Norman Reedus, known for his portrayal of the “badass” character Daryl—often seen riding a large motorcycle with a strong and determined personality—taking on a role in the reboot of Ghost Rider.
However, this rumor was dispelled shortly after Norman Reedus’s statements during a brief interview with Uproxx revealed more details. In this interview, the actor who plays Daryl shared some insights about the ongoing The Walking Dead series and when asked about his interest in playing Ghost Rider, Norman Reedus responded:
“Ah yes, it would indeed be a horror show. I would have to wear a skull mask for a long time with fire and smoke… hey? Forget it, I’d rather withdraw.”
Norman Reedus’s answer was quite definitive and effectively put an end to the speculation regarding his involvement in the rebooted Ghost Rider from Marvel. Some fans were disappointed, but others felt that “Daryl” himself was right to refuse, as it is clear that The Walking Dead and Ghost Rider have little connection, and inserting Norman Reedus into this role would be a misstep in his career.
