Tomorrow, the film version featuring the extended scenes of the Suicide Squad will officially be released. This DVD edition will include an additional 13 minutes of footage, featuring scenes that we have not yet seen in theaters. One of the standout scenes was revealed by actor Jared Leto during a recent interview:
“I think I was quite present in every scene, but I still ended up cutting out a lot of the essence of it.” Leto shared in a previous interview, “I want to share with you all a lot, and I think the additional scenes about Joker would definitely make it a separate movie about him.”
Actress Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn, further engaged audiences by sharing that Leto had to film many scenes reflecting on the memories of Harley Quinn alongside Joker in the past. For instance, the scene where Harley Quinn follows Joker in the clip below is a prime example.
However, these scenes were cut from the theatrical release due to concerns that they might make Harley Quinn’s character appear too weak. Audiences might feel overwhelmed if there are too many flashback scenes that disrupt the film’s timeline.
