According to the seller, the collection took approximately 20 years to compile and contains many valuable cards. Out of the 302 cards, 280 are holographic, and 22 cards feature standard finishes. A single holographic card from the first edition can hold considerable value, but this set is even more special as it includes all cards signed by the artist. Currently, the asking price for this collector’s set is around 2.2 million dollars (approximately 55 thousand VND).
One might think that this price is quite high, but considering the valuation of collectible card games, this is indeed a rare find. This set notably includes one Black Lotus card—the card regarded as the “Holy Grail” of any Magic: The Gathering game. Therefore, the selling price of 2.2 million dollars seems rather modest given the potential value of the Black Lotus card alone, which has previously been sold for 3 million dollars.
Importantly, the Black Lotus card is still in mint condition, which enhances its rarity and value. Thus, the price of 55 thousand VND is indeed a conservative estimate compared to the actual worth of this collector’s set.
