Vietnamese audiences have long been familiar with the Ghost Rider film, starring actor Nicholas Cage in the titular role. Many were surprised to learn that Ghost Rider is also a character in the Marvel superhero universe.
In the Marvel superhero universe, Ghost Rider has made numerous appearances. The first and foremost is Johnny Blaze (the character played by Nicholas Cage), who sold his soul to Mephisto in exchange for saving his father’s life. Following Blaze is Danny Ketch, and most recently, the version of Ghost Rider introduced in the TV series *Agents of SHIELD* is Roberto “Robbie” Reyes.
Recently, Marvel announced an exciting new development: in the upcoming comic titled Ghost Rider #1, we will see Ghost Rider teaming up with… Hulk and Wolverine.
The New Ghost Rider Storyline
The latest comic features Robbie and Gabe handling their usual business, which involves car repairs and living a normal life. Unfortunately, while buying ice cream for Gabe, our Ghost Rider encountered a gang of thugs who attacked them in a truck.
Although Robbie tried to keep calm, Eli, the character he cares for, was in danger, and the Ghost Rider persona emerged. Eventually, Robbie was able to control Eli, unleashing a powerful burst to take down the gang members in the area.
Ghost Rider Meets Hulk
In this comic, while it is titled Ghost Rider, many other characters make appearances as well. First and foremost is the Awesome Hulk, who is not the original Hulk but a new version of the character. This Hulk is actually Amadeus Cho, who absorbed radiation from Bruce Banner and became a younger version of Hulk but retains better control than the original.
Interestingly, Hulk’s involvement comes as his friend, Agent Debose, contacts him to investigate a chemical substance that has been reported. The result is that this substance evolves and turns into a monstrous creature, which appears near a food truck where Robbie’s Ghost Rider is present. And thus, Ghost Rider encounters Hulk to join the fight against this new threat.
And Wolverine Joins the Fray
Speaking of Wolverine, many audiences might immediately think of Logan, played by actor Hugh Jackman. However, in this storyline, Wolverine refers to another character, specifically X-23 – Laura Kinney, who unintentionally encounters the monstrous creature being pursued by Hulk.
In this new comic, Wolverine “drops in,” Hulk “drops in,” and Ghost Rider also “drops in.” The three superheroes will unite to fight against the monstrous creature that has appeared in California. If you are a Marvel fan, you definitely should not miss this comic!
