Sing (titled *Sing* in English), the animated feature film released this Christmas season by Illumination, features the participation of a surprising talent, actress Ngọc Trinh, who voices the character Meena. In the film, Ngọc Trinh lends her voice to Meena, one of the promising contestants in a global singing competition. Despite possessing a “unique” singing voice, Meena faces obstacles that push her to the limits, turning the stage into a haunting scene that makes it impossible for her to shine.
In the international version, singer Tori Kelly voices the character Meena who has a strong singing voice.
This is Ngọc Trinh’s first time participating in the voiceover for an animated film, and she admitted that it was a surprising experience. Ngọc Trinh has gathered her entire team to execute this project, which is entirely different from her previous ventures. It’s as if she were a chef who, despite not being an expert, was tasked with creating a secret family recipe that completely captivates the audience.

Moreover, Ngọc Trinh’s voice acting role as Rosita, a mother pig with 25 piglets, is a humorous character aiming to escape the “housewife” image to become a diva on stage. When she was cast to voice Meena, Ngọc Trinh felt a deep connection with the character, which inspired her to bring creative and unexpected elements to her performance. This transformation marked a significant evolution in her career, shedding her previous image while embracing her new role.

After the summer blockbuster *The Secret Life of Pets*, Illumination’s latest release, *Sing*, is set to premiere this Christmas season.
