The Esports category is one of 44 sports selected to compete for medals. This year, there will be a total of 4 game titles with 6 competing formats. Specifically:

- League of Legends: Content for both male and female teams
- Free Fire: Content for male teams
- EA Sports FC Online: Content for male teams

Previously, familiar game titles at the SEA Games have brought home numerous gold medals for the Vietnamese team, such as PUBG Mobile, VALORANT, and League of Legends. Notably, these titles will not be featured in this tournament. This revelation left the CEO of GAM Esports stunned, prompting the reaction: “How about League of Legends!?”

In the previous SEA Games 32, the Vietnamese Esports team achieved remarkable success, securing 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals in games like Dota 2, PUBG Mobile, VALORANT, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. These achievements highlight the impressive stature of Vietnamese Esports in the region, paving the way for further development.
