The name currently making waves in the gaming community is The First Descendant – a game that achieved significant success upon its release in 2024.
As of this moment, player feedback has been overwhelmingly negative, with a substantial number of reviews criticizing the game. In fact, at one point, The First Descendant boasted the highest player count ever in its genre, reaching up to 264,000 players at a single peak time. However, that was a story of the past.

Currently, in just six months, the player count for The First Descendant has drastically diminished, signaling the end of its development cycle.
Specifically, the number of players for this bombshell game on Steam has plummeted by 95.5%, with the game currently residing at a peak of merely around 12,000 players. Even more troubling, the rating for the game has dropped to “less favorable,” unlike the initial positive reception it received. Feedback from players has mainly lamented issues related to repetitive gameplay, lack of depth in skin options, and most importantly, transactions that detract from the overall gaming experience.

In reality, these indicators were previously forecasted when the game was released, despite being touted as a potential hit for 2024. However, critics have assigned The First Descendant a dismal score of 57 on Metacritic – surprisingly low considering its player base. In just August alone, The First Descendant saw a 56.3% drop, followed by a further decline to 49.5% in September. Currently, there are no signs of recovery for this troubled game.

The First Descendant is currently ranked 138 on Steam. This ranking reflects its struggle amidst a plethora of other games, including New World and Battlefield 5, and even among other bombshell releases like eFootball.
