Sakamoto Days Volume 2 retains the original flavor and essence of the storyline from the first volume, with a greater focus on action-packed sequences.
In Volume 2, we meet Lu Shaotang, a member of the Lu family, a prominent clan in the Three Monarchs. Shaotang’s father (who was introduced in the manga before his appearance) had entrusted her with a secret stash of money belonging to their family, which has attracted a faction intent on hunting her down.
She encounters Shin and Sakamoto in the Nikita Tower and receives help from them. The antagonistic faction is comprised of the vicious twin assassins Son Hee and Bacho, who had previously been thwarted by the three. Lu is now a new employee at Sakamoto’s convenience store.
It’s important to note that this episode primarily features events from Chapters 2, 4, and 5, while completely skipping over the occurrences in Chapter 3 due to the abrupt cut from the introduction of Officer Nakase.
Who are Lu Shaotang and Officer Nakase?

Lu Shaotang will be a key character this season, but her role may not last long. Although she was initially a prominent figure, she has not appeared in the subsequent storyline.
When Suzuki attempts to bring her into the main narrative, the supporting characters do not seem to engage. The manga sales have significantly dropped, which is why she has been relegated to the background. Consequently, many readers have questioned, “Who is this girl?” when she appears in promotional images and introductions, as she doesn’t seem to relate to the main storyline.

Nakase, who is cut from the episode, is a police officer who initially tries to help when she encounters Sakamoto and Shin due to an inappropriate vehicle collision, leading to her suspicion afterward.
Later, when Nakase struggles to fend off a group of aggressive thugs, she discovers that she is a member of a powerful syndicate and possesses formidable skills. This revelation puts her in danger; however, fortunately, Sakamoto and Shin are there to rescue her.
In fact, cutting Chapter 3 from the narrative is somewhat justified, as Officer Nakase had not yet reappeared in the storyline. Some readers might speculate that she would become a significant character in the series, but as of now, that hasn’t occurred.
The story can still transition into this chapter in future volumes, implementing necessary adjustments.
