Doinb Talks About “Extreme Pressure” with LPL Fans
Before the LPL 2025 Split 1 takes place, many fans in this region have suggested that the “super team” IG has been heavily favored to advance through the group stage. In fact, IG fans are optimistic that their team will secure a complete victory to progress through the knockout stage. However, the reality is much harsher for IG as they recently suffered a defeat to NIP led by Doinb with a score of 1-3. Furthermore, star players like Rookie and TheShy also faced significant challenges during this critical match, amplifying the disappointment.

On the other side, Doinb shined brightly with his unique strategies that helped NIP secure victory. Special champions like Ryze and Lee Sin played pivotal roles, with Doinb utilizing them effectively to maintain an advantage in key team fights. Despite this success, Doinb remained less than satisfied, believing that the current state of LPL is in decline.

“After two years of being away, returning to win is not a pleasant experience. The reason is that after two years, LPL seems to be lacking fresh talent on the main stage. When I first started, I felt my strength and that of my team were strong, and everyone was eager to connect with something new. Therefore, I hope that this year’s Worlds for LPL will be much better if the current situation continues. Regardless, I and my team will celebrate after defeating a strong opponent like IG,” Doinb shared.
LPL Fans May Be “Disappointed” but Agree with Doinb
Immediately after Doinb’s comments were widely shared, they became a topic of vibrant discussion within the LPL community. Many fans agreed that Doinb’s observations reflected the “fading glory” of LPL, and he was quite courageous to express his thoughts. Moreover, numerous fans believe that this lack of talent in LPL is not limited to just one role but spans across different positions.

Reflecting on the current LPL teams, the closest team to being considered a “superstar” is Knight, a player who has been in the game for 6 years now. Meanwhile, other teams like Sheer or Milkyway have gradually faded over time and cannot maintain their star status. As Doinb mentioned, the current situation is creating a stagnation within LPL, complicating any potential growth.

Since EDG won the 2021 Worlds, the LPL region has faced significant challenges compared to the previously dominant LCK in the League of Legends scene. Major teams, despite being filled with star players, often fail to deliver performances that lead them to championship titles, raising concerns about the future of these teams. With the current talent trajectory in LPL, if these teams continue to underperform, it wouldn’t be surprising to see further declines in the upcoming seasons.
