Steam is Always Known for Its Special Discount Programs for Gamers
As is tradition every year, this time Valve has chosen the end of January to launch its first major discount event on Steam for 2025. Surprisingly, there are not many games in the sale that have excited gamers.
The Reason for the Low Engagement in Steam’s RTS Discount Event
As the name suggests, this is a discount event specifically for fans of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Naturally, not many gamers are fans of this particular type of strategy game. The titles belonging to this genre also tend to have a high difficulty level, making them less appealing compared to action, role-playing, and other genres that require less persistence and focus from the player.
Notable titles in this discount event include Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2 Anniversary Edition, which is currently discounted by 80%, now available for just under 100,000 VND. Another example is Age of Empires 4 Anniversary Edition with a 50% discount, priced at 240,000 VND. Of course, there are also several titles not belonging to the RTS category, but still appearing in this discount program, such as the popular strategy game Europa Universalis 4, which boasts a 90% discount, now priced around 80,000 VND.
The first discount program of the year on Steam will conclude on January 27. However, as noted, there aren’t many RTS games and Steam users seem to be less enthusiastic about it.
