Masashi Kishimoto has created the iconic manga Naruto, which is well-known as one of the ‘Big Three’ alongside One Piece and Bleach. The author is also the mastermind behind the upcoming sequel, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, with Mikio Ikemoto handling the manga’s artistic direction.
To promote Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Kishimoto and Ikemoto recently participated in an interview where they not only discussed the current storyline but also touched upon their previous works.

In the interview, Kishimoto expressed his regret over not expanding the relationship between Sakura and her father, similar to how he developed the relationships between Naruto and Sasuke.
Sakura is indeed one of the main characters but has not received a story arc as deep as her peers. This lack of depth is notable, as it suggests that developing her character further could significantly enhance the narrative surrounding her. Although she is one of the three main characters, she has often been regarded as the least liked among them. Much of this disdain arises from the simplistic portrayal of Sakura compared to other main characters.
By delving deeper into Sakura’s relationship with her father, this could provide her with a different role, beyond merely being a love interest for Naruto and Sasuke. While Sakura has become stronger (effectively becoming one of the strongest female characters by the end of the series), she still does not measure up to her two male counterparts.

This situation, along with the complex love triangle between the three characters, has contributed to the perception of Haruno Sakura as a character often subjected to disdain.
If she were provided with a more detailed storyline, viewers could connect and appreciate her character much more.
Following the author’s reflections, fans are currently expressing a strong desire for a dedicated story to be developed around Sakura. As one Naruto fan put it: “Kishimoto, please create a novel focused on Sakura, highlighting her arduous journey. It’s never too late!”
Another fan echoed this sentiment: “Is there still time to create such a narrative? I really want to see more stories about Sakura.”
As Kishimoto is currently busy with Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, it seems we may not soon receive any specific information regarding Sakura’s story arc.
