Zeri’s Rise in TFT Set 13
Before the release of TFT Set 13, Zeri was often considered a “squishy” champion in compositions utilizing the Celestial trait. The reason for this perception was that other champions like Kog’Maw or Twitch were much stronger and more durable compared to Zeri. However, this champion has recently received significant buffs and, with other Celestial champions facing nerfs in patch 13.4, Zeri has taken this opportunity to rise to prominence.

Additionally, several other champions in the Celestial trait such as Lloris and notably Leona have received strong buffs, which enables Zeri to deal significantly more damage than in previous patches. Zeri still relies on a time-based scaling damage output, increasing over time throughout the game. Therefore, the Celestial trait provides a safer positioning for Zeri, ensuring she can generate substantial damage output.
Building the Zeri – Celestial Composition in TFT Set 13
In the early game, players should aim to accumulate Celestial items from the first round with the goal of determining if they should pivot to the Zeri – Celestial composition. If the player possesses items like Bow and Giant’s Belt early on, Zeri should definitely be a strong choice. Furthermore, having multiple defensive items will help champions like Irelia and Singed perform well in fights and retain their health efficiently. Maddie is also a champion that should be prioritized in this phase as she complements Zeri’s itemization quite well.

For the mid-game stage, players should utilize the experience gained to level up to level 6 to search for and upgrade Zeri. During the reroll phase, Leona and Rell will be the champions to prioritize for completing the 4 Celestial trait as soon as possible. Players may also consider upgrading these champions to 3 stars alongside Zeri if they appear frequently in their shop. In cases where Singed appears often, players should also purchase this champion as his ability can significantly buff Zeri’s damage output.

After successfully upgrading Zeri and a Celestial champion to 3 stars, players should consider accumulating gold and leveling up to level 8. At this point, champions like Illaoi or even Rumble will be excellent additions to activate the crucial 6 Celestial trait. Additionally, Caitlyn will be a necessary substitute for Maddie in the late game to provide additional damage output to the entire team. If reaching level 9, players can also add champions like Malzahar or Viktor to enhance their composition’s overall effectiveness.

Key Tips for Building the Composition
Zeri’s “carry” items in the current meta should include Guinsoo’s Rageblade to enhance her initial damage output significantly. Alongside this, items such as Thieves’ Gloves, Infinity Edge, or even Hextech Gunblade are also very synergistic with this champion. In scenarios where players can acquire the Super Brawler trait, utilizing 2 Guinsoo’s Rageblade can also be incredibly powerful. Furthermore, items that enhance rerolling such as the Spatula or Merchants will help players save significant gold during the process of upgrading Zeri.
