Trunks: The Unique Saiyan with Colorful Hair

Although Broly is a legendary character who has only appeared once in a millennium, Trunks has earned the title of “rare” for a very special reason: his hair color. While all other Saiyans have black hair, Trunks stands out with his uniquely colored hair, which can be blue or purple depending on the day.
This detail may seem minor, but it has placed Trunks in a distinct category. In Chapter 333, during a conversation about Goku’s absence, Vegeta became irritated and expressed his frustration about Trunks’s emergence, particularly after witnessing him defeat Frieza in a very decisive manner.
Vegeta was completely displeased to see someone else surpassing him in strength. Even when he saw Trunks transform into a Super Saiyan, Vegeta still doubted his legitimacy as a Saiyan, not due to his power but because of his hair color.
The underlying issue is indeed Trunks’s hair color. Vegeta pointed out that all Saiyans, even those in different positions, have black hair, so why does Trunks have blue (or purple) hair? This peculiarity makes Trunks an anomaly, even more so than the legendary Super Saiyan.
Legendary Super Saiyans are a rare occurrence that has only happened once in millennia, and “Dragon Ball Super” shows that such transformations still exist in various forms. However, as Vegeta pointed out, no Saiyan has ever been born with a hair color different from black, except for Trunks and Broly, the rarest Saiyan known to date.
