Ruler’s Discontent Despite Gen.G’s Victory
Before stepping into the match against DNF, Gen.G faced considerable pressure after suffering a shocking defeat against BRO previously. Their performance under these circumstances raised numerous questions about the strength of Ruler and the team. It seemed that the Gen.G players were well aware of this, as they exerted all their might to secure victory against DNF, achieving a convincing 2-0 scoreline.

The highlight of Gen.G’s match was when Ruler was denied a Pentakill by Chovy during the first game. Even the LCK organizers showcased Gen.G’s communication during this critical moment, where only support player Duro suggested allowing Ruler to achieve the Pentakill. Meanwhile, the other members were keen on securing their own highlights, and Chovy ended up being the one to clinch the kill. Reflecting on this situation, Ruler expressed his disappointment and mentioned that Chovy might have to “pay the price” in the future.

“Honestly, I’m quite a calm player when competing and usually don’t show too much emotion. However, being denied a Pentakill truly makes me feel upset, especially when other members are aiming for their highlights. I think there’s a balance to be struck, and if Chovy finds himself in a similar situation in the future, it will be me going for the Pentakill,” Ruler shared after Gen.G’s victory.

Ruler Finally Breaks the “Drought” at the LCK Cup 2025
One noteworthy point is that before using Corki in the match against DNF, Ruler had a streak of 12 consecutive losses, whether playing in the middle lane or bottom lane. Many fans expressed concern that this was a sign of “bad luck” for Ruler at the LCK Cup 2025, as he had not been able to secure a victory. Nevertheless, Ruler’s outstanding performance, including that denied Pentakill, helped Corki achieve its first victory and break the “drought” successfully at the LCK Cup 2025.

With this victory, Gen.G now holds a record of 3 wins and 1 loss, placing second in the standings of the LCK. If they continue to perform well against T1 in the third week, they will likely secure a playoff spot. This also provides Ruler an opportunity to seek a Pentakill for himself and to regain his strong performance at LCK after nearly two years of “studying abroad” in the LPL.
