This discussion stemmed from Luffy’s struggles with the limitations of being made of rubber, where Garp stated he could harm Luffy simply through the strength of love.
In response, Oda clarified that Garp did not use Haki. Instead, he could genuinely inflict pain on Luffy through the sheer emotional strength of love, even if Luffy’s body was rubber. This clearly indicates that the power of love exists beyond Haki, Devil Fruits, or other abilities, and it certainly creates a different dynamic in battles.
