The 18th episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 focuses on the death of the character Nanami early in the episode, followed by a fierce battle between Yuji and Mahito. After witnessing Nanami’s devastating demise, Yuji is left feeling completely crushed, in pain and despair.
Yuji has reached a breaking point after Sukuna’s destruction of the entire Shibuya area. To make matters worse, Yuji also has to witness Nanami’s tragic end just moments after his death. Mahito takes advantage of Yuji’s emotional turmoil and seeks to exploit his mental state during the battle.
Just like most episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, this week also features several scenes that are unique to the anime and do not appear in the original manga. However, one particular scene left fans entirely stunned due to its striking composition.
Surprisingly, fans were captivated by this moment and shared their thoughts on social media. The community is currently buzzing about the unique scene that hadn’t been seen in the manga before. One user commented: “Mahito sees a weak point that Sukuna left for Yuji and decides to exploit it by getting closer to Yuji.”

Another user added their insights: “Mahito has one of the most creatively engaging fighting styles, but what he does to Yuji is especially dark, especially when he gets too close.”
A passionate fan also reflected on Yuta Okkotsu from the manga: “If this had happened to Yuta, he would have definitely gotten revenge on Mahito.”
Another viewer commented: “Mahito genuinely tried to make Yuji happy by getting closer, but it was all a ruse, aiming to deceive him and take advantage of his vulnerability. It really is a double-edged sword.”
The intense battle between Yuji and Mahito was portrayed exceptionally well in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, as one fan expressed: “I think I’ve watched this scene about 20 times already and still can’t believe how perfectly animated it is. First, Yuji’s scream, and then Mahito shouting ‘ITADORI YUUJI’ is just flawless.”
