Oricon News, one of the most reputable news outlets in Japan, recently revealed some secrets behind the production process of the final episode of the anime series Attack on Titan. Among the notable points disclosed is that a one-year-old child made a debut as the voice actor in this concluding installment of the anime.

In the final episode, after Armin is swallowed by the Okapi Titan, we see the world being completely devastated. In a particularly heartbreaking scene, audiences witness humanity falling down a cliff at a location on the globe. Among these people, there is a one-year-old child who is being held by their mother amidst the chaos.
The Importance of This Scene
Yuki Kaji has shared that his one-year-old son participated in the voice acting for the final episode of Attack on Titan. According to the voice actor, the story of Attack on Titan is primarily about the struggles of humanity and their efforts to survive.
As a result, Yuki Kaji invited Masafumi Mima, the sound director for this series, to include the sound of his crying child in the voice acting role.
Yuki Kaji has sent the director several recordings of his son’s cries and has directed the sound team on how to integrate these sounds until they were perfectly edited and included in the final cut of the anime.

Who is the Youngest Voice Actor in Anime?
Hikari Okada, at the age of 13, was previously recognized as the youngest voice actress, having participated in the voice acting for a long-running anime series. At that time, she was merely a student in the first grade.
Hikari Okada voiced the character Hrqstn Elq from the series “WorldEnd: What do you do at the end of the world? Are you busy? Will you save us?”. Since taking on this character, she has not continued to pursue any further roles in her voice acting career.
Thus, Yuki Kaji’s one-year-old son can be considered the youngest voice actor in anime history. Previously, we also witnessed a cat character receive a voice acting role.
