IG 2025 Unveils a Spectacular Roster
As previously announced, the team IG has officially unveiled its lineup for the 2025 season on December 8. Not only through social media posts, but IG also organized an extravagant launch event at the Cao Tan Central Stadium in Thanh Äô, presenting their roster in a manner befitting the League of Legends World Championship (CKTG) this year. Moreover, IG invited numerous casters, streamers, and famous personalities from the League of Legends community to witness their new lineup and create a powerful media impact.

Looking at the “super team” that IG will field in the 2025 season, the introductions were as impressive as the star-studded roster itself. This lineup features two legendary players, TheShy and Rookie, as well as stars who have previously won the CKTG (Meiko, Jiejie) and MSI (GALA). With such a renowned lineup, IG is poised to make a significant impact in the LPL for the upcoming 2025 season.

LPL Fans Still View IG 2025 as a ‘Paper Tiger’
Despite boasting numerous stars, IG’s 2025 roster has not fully earned the trust of fans within the LPL community. There has been considerable negative commentary surrounding the team’s potential, with some suggesting that this new iteration of IG may merely be a flashy lineup with no real competitive edge.

From a fair standpoint, LPL fans have their reasons to be skeptical about IG 2025’s success. TheShy underperformed throughout the 2024 season, leading fans to question his current form. Meanwhile, Rookie and Jiejie had lackluster seasons and did not deliver strong performances. If Rookie’s NIP team finished with a 0-8 record in the LPL Summer Split, EDG and Jiejie barely made it to the playoffs. GALA and Meiko, who had notable achievements, faced significant challenges at the 2024 CKTG.

In summary, while IG 2025 is a compilation of many stars on paper, it faces a tough challenge in establishing trust among fans regarding its competitive capabilities. The potential that this “new” IG brings to the LPL is significant, and it is crucial for them to develop a strong media presence to draw fans back to the competitive scene. It is clear that in the fiercely competitive LPL environment, the return of big names is essential for attracting viewers in the 2024 season. In terms of performance, fans will need some more time to accurately assess this “super team” of IG.
