The world of anime and Hollywood recently converged with the announcement that One Piece would be adapted into a live-action series on Netflix. This news sparked excitement and skepticism, as Eiichiro Oda’s work has always posed challenges when transitioning from manga to live-action film.

There are numerous elements within the One Piece universe that leave many wondering how they could be effectively translated into live-action format. However, despite initial concerns, Netflix’s adaptation has received significant praise since its release. Now, fans eagerly await the next installments of the live-action One Piece.
Jalex Rosa, a talented Brazilian artist, decided to create his own version of the Gear 5 transformation due to his deep passion for the project. After over 100 days of intense dedication and hard work, he has successfully materialized an impressive rendition.

In terms of the visual effects, he has constructed a super realistic version of Luffy and Kaido. In a video shared on social media, he detailed the entire creative process, showcasing a high level of professionalism from the initial character design to the creation of the Gear 5 transformation effects.
The choice to model Kaido after the physicality of Jason Momoa has brought a unique touch to the character. Unfortunately, due to legal reasons, Jalex Rosa had to alter the character’s appearance. Nevertheless, viewers consistently find it hard not to think of Momoa when seeing Kaido in a hybrid form.
Additionally, the soundtrack also plays a crucial role in the overall experience, leaving viewers enthralled by its excellence. Jalex Rosa assembled a local band to evoke the grandiosity of battles in One Piece in real life.

The clip, while brief, captures the essence of the epic clash between Luffy and Kaido on Onigashima. The moment when Luffy transforms into Gear 5 and utilizes the immense power of Nika is truly breathtaking.
If Jalex and his team can create such astonishing visuals in a short timeframe and with limited resources, there is no reason for Netflix not to achieve similar monumental scenes in their official live-action adaptation.
