The Jujutsu Kaisen manga is nearing its conclusion, but the conflict between the sorcerers and King of Curses Sukuna is becoming increasingly intense. Sukuna continues to “evolve” and eliminate any sorcerers that stand in his way.
Recently, Sukuna achieved something previously thought impossible by defeating one of the most powerful sorcerers, Gojo Satoru, using a technique that transcends spatial dimensions in a literal sense.

In a recent chapter, the ultra-powerful sorcerer Hajime Kashimo was also defeated by Sukuna after returning to his original form.
Readers witnessed several sorcerers being taken down by Sukuna, including Yuji Itadori and Higuruma Hiromi, who were thrown into battle in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 238. A notable detail in this chapter is Yuji’s arm. His arm has changed compared to its previous appearance, suggesting that it has evolved. This implies a connection to Sukuna’s lingering presence within Yuji over an extended period.
The Impact of Sukuna on Yuji’s Body
Sukuna has been residing within Yuji for quite some time. This situation likely has profound implications for Yuji’s body. Even after Sukuna leaves, traces of his cursed energy may still linger within Yuji.

The remaining cursed energy from Sukuna within Yuji could potentially resonate with Sukuna’s entire being and spirit. Therefore, when Sukuna reverts to his original form, it could significantly affect Yuji’s body.
Sukuna reverts back to his original form by altering his spirit’s shape. In other words, Yuji might be attempting to perform a technique to alter his own spirit to contain Sukuna and transform it into a perfect jujutsu vessel.
The absorption of Sukuna’s cursed energy and the containment of his original form could have allowed Yuji to develop a new cursed technique, as suggested by the changes in his arm in the latest chapter.
Yuji Itadori’s New Power: Spirit Manipulation
Mahito possesses a remarkable ability that allows him to change the form of spirits to make them more resilient and powerful.
In their early battles, during the fight between Mahito and Yuji, Yuji managed to inflict damage on Mahito’s spirit, something even Nanami could not accomplish.

Moreover, Yuji is still studying Yuki’s research materials regarding spirits. As one of the few characters capable of understanding the concept of spirits, Yuji may have acquired valuable insights from the research documents.
Many manga critics believe that Yuji possesses the potential to alter his own spirit with another, similar to the spirit manipulation ability hinted at in chapter 222.
With all the knowledge about his own spirit, it is likely that Yuji will utilize this knowledge to create a better vessel, thus having a stronger chance in battles against Sukuna.
Can Yuji Defeat Sukuna?
The battle between Yuji Itadori and Sukuna has yet to unfold, and it remains uncertain whether he can defeat Sukuna.
If Yuji still has Sukuna’s cursed energy within him, it could potentially provide him with an advantage when fighting against the King of Curses. For example, when Gojo uses the Purple Hollow technique against Sukuna, he is also within the target range of the domain expansion, but the damage he inflicts is less than what Sukuna receives. The reason being that Sukuna’s cursed energy is still present.

Applying this logic to the battle between Yuji and Sukuna, it is possible that Yuji will experience less damage from Sukuna, due to Sukuna’s cursed energy still lingering within Yuji. This may provide Yuji with the strength to hold out until reinforcements arrive or even develop to a level where he can potentially defeat Sukuna.
Although this theory does not guarantee Sukuna’s defeat, it certainly allows Yuji to inflict considerable harm on the King of Curses.
