QQ reports that in the world of entertainment in the Chinese language, there is a long-standing tradition regarding “the curse of child stars,” where very few notable figures manage to maintain their fame as they grow up. In addition to the appearance of these stars, many find themselves facing difficulties once they transition out of childhood stardom.
From “The Pride of Taiwan, China” to being pursued by the law
Vương Hân Đạt, born in 1995, is known for his bright and intelligent appearance as well as his outstanding acting skills. From a young age, he participated in many famous television productions, including Blue Ocean Love Story, Under the Stars, Happy Blue Light, The Love Field (2007)…
However, early fame also became a factor that led to the tragic downfall of Vương Hân Đạt. He became embroiled in scandals involving drug use, social interaction with the wrong crowd, and violent altercations, which garnered negative media attention. Vương Hân Đạt once attempted to deny the existence of mental health issues, but his parents were worried that this would affect his advertising contracts and filming opportunities, thus not wanting to send Vương Hân Đạt to treatment.
At level 3, Vương Hân Đạt entered the entertainment industry as a public figure. The child star initially gained attention for his role in the series Blue Ocean Love Story in 2012, but was still under his parents’ protection.

By 2016, Vương Hân Đạt had become a supporting actor and participated in a drug-related incident. The star of Blue Ocean Love Story was arrested for drug use and was later sentenced to 17 years in prison, with a fine of 830,000 NTD. The case of the child star has been under investigation for three years, during which time Vương Hân Đạt has been released on bail and is still being pursued.
From “Golden Boy” to facing the music, a sentence from the court
The downfall of Nhân Chính Quốc is quite similar to that of Vương Hân Đạt. Born in 1974, he began acting at just 4 years old. The work The Sandwich Man earned him the Golden Horse Award when he was only 9 years old. Along with impressive performances, he starred in many famous productions and was frequently featured in advertisements.
However, the early fame led Nhân Chính Quốc to face difficulties in real life. At school, he was often bullied and could not handle the pressure, leading him to mental health issues to the extent that he had to be hospitalized.
From there, Nhân Chính Quốc got involved in many legal troubles, often facing arrest for drug-related offenses. After multiple scandals, he was forced to drop out of school.
After leaving school, the actor struggled with drug addiction and was arrested for drunk driving. Other directors, such as Hậu Hiểu Hiền and Từ Tiểu Minh, collaborated with Nhân Chính Quốc, but did not want to continue working with him due to his issues. In 1992, he participated in the film Dust of Angels, hoping for a chance to change and turn his life around.
However, shortly after, Nhân Chính Quốc was again arrested for possession of drugs and was sentenced to 18 months in prison, stripping him of all awards he had previously achieved.

After his release, Nhân Chính Quốc married and had children, but still could not find stability. At 28, he was caught in a drug ring, facing penalties of up to 2 million NTD. But the drug traffickers managed to escape, leading to his arrest. Criminal officers had previously launched investigations against Nhân Chính Quốc due to his repeated offenses, but fortunately, the laws in Taiwan were amended during that period. Ultimately, Nhân Chính Quốc narrowly escaped death and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
During his imprisonment, Nhân Chính Quốc studied Kung Fu. After his sentence was reduced to 11 years, he was released, later directing two feature films. However, due to his fiery personality, he often found himself in conflicts with colleagues and faced legal issues.
The most famous child star in Taiwan faces the trials of life
According to QQ, Tiểu Tiểu Bân is one of the most notable examples of child stars facing severe consequences in their careers due to their early fame.
Tiểu Tiểu Bân, born in 2004, is the child of actor Ôn Triệu Vũ (known as Tiểu Bân Bân). With a striking appearance and talent, Tiểu Tiểu Bân was introduced by his father into the film industry at a young age to help support the family. The child star gained popularity through films like Happy Family, Want to Shine for You, Love in the Moonlight, Hidden Heart, etc. At the height of his career, Tiểu Tiểu Bân could earn millions of USD annually.

However, the financial struggles of Tiểu Tiểu Bân’s parents, despite his earnings, led them to overspend on luxury cars, cosmetic surgeries, and lavish lifestyles. This behavior drew public criticism, forcing Ôn Triệu Vũ to make his son take a break from acting and return to school.
Later, Ôn Triệu Vũ fell into debt, exhausting the earnings his son made. Moreover, when Tiểu Tiểu Bân fell ill with skin problems, he was not given funds by his father for timely medical treatment, which worsened his condition.
Currently, Tiểu Tiểu Bân has reached the age of 19, but due to his previous image as a child star, he finds it challenging to secure suitable acting roles. He has taken up jobs in restaurants and even worked as a cleaning staff, reflecting the harsh reality of being a former child star in Taiwan, China.
