August this year marks a significant milestone, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the classic martial arts film “Way of the Dragon” making its debut to audiences. This film is notably the first Kung Fu production created in Hollywood, and it elevated the name of Bruce Lee to international stardom.
Although “Way of the Dragon” is the most famous film featuring Bruce Lee, his contributions to the film industry are extensive. Lee was immersed in cinema from a young age, making his acting debut as a child actor in 1941, where he played a role in the film Golden Gate Girl. At the age of six, he continued to gain experience with a role in the film The Kid. By the time he turned 18, Bruce Lee had already starred in over 20 films.

Most of Bruce Lee’s works are primarily known in China and Hong Kong, but they serve as a significant backdrop for his rise to fame in martial arts later.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of “Way of the Dragon“, Bruce Lee’s daughter, Shannon Lee, has announced a new anime titled “House of Lee,” which will recount the legendary journey of the martial artist. The anime is produced by Bruce Lee Entertainment in collaboration with the content production company Shibuya, led by creator and artist Emily Yang.
“House of Lee” will be the first anime series dedicated to Bruce Lee, slated to premiere in 2024. The series aims to honor Bruce Lee’s contributions to martial arts and cinema through this anime adaptation.

The series will be an action-packed journey depicting Bruce Lee’s battles against the corrupt soldiers of his time before the world fell into darkness. It draws inspiration from Bruce Lee’s famous quote: “Those who do not know are wandering in darkness will never find the light.”
The production team and creative direction of The Bruce Lee Family Companies have long sought to realize an animated project centered on Bruce Lee over many years. Shannon Lee has drawn inspiration from her personal experiences to create the narrative following “House of Lee.” The anime serves as a fantastic medium to tell a story that reflects Bruce Lee’s legacy and influence in martial arts.
Currently, there are still limited details available regarding the upcoming project.
