Sina recently reported that actress Tương Mộng Tiếp has alerted the police after someone called her to extort money, citing possession of sensitive images and videos of her.
According to the report, this situation has caused Tương Mộng Tiếp to lose her reputation and disrupt her career, as the leaked images have been circulating among entertainment companies and film crews. The incident has also led to her being inundated with calls, further complicating the already distressing situation.
After the incident, Tương Mộng Tiếp reported the threat to the police and sought assistance in tracking down the extortionist; however, no leads on the source of the leaked images have been found. One source close to her disclosed that someone had seen the sensitive video of her on an external website, which has since garnered over 1 million views. Due to the website being international, Tương Mộng Tiếp has been unable to find a way to remove it.
Tương Mộng Tiếp has shared that at first, she found it challenging to accept the situation, particularly since the public is increasingly interested in viewing the video. Nevertheless, the actress believes that remaining silent in the face of such wrongful actions only serves to empower those who seek to exploit others.
“Being filmed without consent is not our fault. The lives of women should not be affected by such indecent behaviors. I may not be able to track down the source of the footage, but those who take such actions should be held accountable. The law needs to intervene,” Tương Mộng Tiếp stated.
