Instead of Super Saiyan 4 being activated by a new energy discovery from Bulma, Goku in Daima undergoes this transformation through a magical technique from a Namekian character, Neva. The Super Saiyan 4 version in Daima not only keeps Goku in a more refined state (instead of evolving into a giant ape as in Dragon Ball GT), but also alters his clothing in a way that fits this new form.
