In February, Many Gacha Games Suffer Significant Revenue Losses
As is usually the case, the beginning of the month is the time when the gaming community revisits the impressive performance of explosive Gacha games. However, February has just passed, and many “big names” have reported substantial losses, causing the Gacha game sector in general to fall into a state of stagnation, significantly below expectations.
According to the latest statistics shared by the Genshin Impact community on Reddit, this game has seen a decline of more than 70% in revenue compared to January, only reaching around 26 million USD. Similarly, the other two Gacha titles from miHoYo, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, also suffered declines, earning 46 million USD and 17 million USD, respectively, both down compared to the previous month.

On the other hand, the Top 10 leading games are also quite surprising, with almost all the major titles showing a significant decline, except for Pokémon TCG Pocket, which managed to maintain its hot streak, continuing to rise to the top with 79 million USD in revenue.
One Gacha Game Breaks the Trend, Doubling Its Revenue
In stark contrast to the general trend, only Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle stands out as a unique case, doubling its revenue in February. The reason behind this remarkable performance is the celebration of its 10th anniversary, with numerous gifts and exciting events that have captured the attention of the gaming community.

It is quite rare to see the Gacha game sector facing such a decline after many years of consistent growth. Hopefully, after this brief “hiccup,” familiar blockbuster titles will regain their momentum, launching more engaging activities to win back the affection of the gaming community.
