Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin is a manga created by author Hajime Isayama. The series first debuted in September 2009 and concluded on April 9, 2021, with a total of 139 chapters.
In 2013, Attack on Titan was adapted into an anime by Wit Studio, quickly gaining popularity among viewers thanks to its high-quality animation and compelling storytelling. As of now, the final installment, Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 3, is currently airing, bringing fans closer to the conclusion of the Titan War saga.

While most questions regarding the anime have been resolved, some still remain unanswered. One of the main questions is the official name for Eren’s final Titan form. Fortunately, author Hajime Isayama has provided an answer to this query.
In today’s article, we will delve deeper into this final form.
At the end of the previous anime season, we caught a glimpse of Eren’s Titan form during “The Rumble.” At that moment, Eren’s Titan form looked nothing like the human form we had previously seen. Eren had transformed into an entirely new Titan form, appearing much larger and resembling a colossal moving structure rather than a humanoid Titan.
The reason for Eren’s enhanced Titan strength is attributed to his consumption of several Titan powers, which allowed him to inherit the abilities of other Titans (such as the Founding Titan, War Hammer Titan, etc.), while also changing the unique characteristics and powers of Eren’s Titan.

Interestingly, before the official name was revealed, some fans referred to Eren’s final Titan form as “Eren’s War Hammer Titan form.” Subsequently, when the Blu-ray/DVD cover for Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season was released, the production team requested Isayama-sensei to clarify the name for Eren’s final Titan form. It turns out that the new Titan form is called Shubi no Kyojin (which translates to “Final Titan”).
Although “shubi” in Latin also means “to defend,” in many contexts, this term serves to highlight the finality of a phase – a conclusion of some sort.

“Final Titan” is a name that may seem straightforward but carries significant meaning related to the overarching narrative of Attack on Titan. The origins of the Titans begin with the Founding Titan, and by the time Eren emerges as a Titan (after inheriting the Founding Titan), his form is designated as the “Final Titan” to signify that Eren will be the one to end the existence of the Titans.
Previously, Eren’s Titan form did not have an official name upon its first appearance in the anime. It wasn’t until the end of the third season (or around chapter 86 of the manga) that this form was finally recognized with a title consistent with the series’ narrative. It was referred to as Shingeki no Kyojin – The Assault of the Titans.
