Dragon Ball Daima has introduced quite a few new elements into the timeline of the shonen film series. In just the first episode, viewers are treated to a glimpse of the Demon Realm, showcasing a fresh origin story for the Namekian race and revealing some new facets of Shenron and the magical Dragon Balls.
In the latest installment, which serves as a direct sequel to Dragon Ball Z, Son Goku, Kaioshin, and Glorio continue their journey in the Demon Realm.
They have begun to encounter a type of threat that Goku has never faced before. A new type of Senzu Bean has been introduced, and it’s made many people hesitant to consume it.
It must be acknowledged that Senzu Beans have been a vital resource for the Z fighters throughout the various battles from Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z to Dragon Ball Super. Besides helping warriors recover their strength, these magical beans can also heal injuries that seem insurmountable. While Senzu Beans typically take time to grow, the Demon Realm has introduced a new type of food that can have an immediate impact, unlike anything seen before.
The Senzu of the Demon Realm in Dragon Ball Daima
When Glorio brought Goku and Kaioshin to a quaint shop in the Demon Realm to find a substitute for their damaged spaceship, Goku happened to notice some “Medi-Bugs” (medicinal bugs). However, each type of bug has different abilities since each kind serves a specific purpose.
Among them, “Revive Bugs” are a type of Medi-Bug that shares similar properties with Senzu Beans. When someone consumes one of these bugs, they can regain their strength and simultaneously heal injuries just like Senzu Beans. Although we have yet to see these Revive Bugs in action, Daima has already prepared for a battle where they will be essential.
Revive Bugs are a unique component
This latest episode has further clarified the unique Dragon Balls of the Demon Realms, laying the groundwork for what could be the biggest battle in Dragon Ball Daima. Unlike the Dragon Balls on Earth, the Demon Realm’s magical spheres only need to collect three to fulfill a specific wish. Unfortunately, there are incredibly powerful beings guarding these Dragon Balls, making it impossible for anyone to realize that wish. The Namekian known as Neva is the creator of these Dragon Balls, and he has also positioned powerful guardians known as Tamagami to ensure that fulfilling a wish is not an easy task.
Due to being transformed into a “first-year student,” Goku faces challenges in maintaining his fighting strength. Even though promotional materials have stated that Goku can still transform into a Super Saiyan, Daima has shown that he needs time to acclimate to his new size. Moreover, the unique abilities of the Demon Realm force warriors to contend with formidable foes, meaning that the battle against Tamagami will not be a straightforward victory.
