Time Spent Online: The New Gold Standard
In a world where money can be earned back if lost, time once spent cannot be reclaimed. During the 19h news program aired on VTV on December 9th, a segment dedicated to the phenomenon of time wastage was highlighted.

According to the report, the average Vietnamese spends 2 hours and 25 minutes daily on social media, ranking in the global top 20. This ‘screen time’ phenomenon highlights the serious impacts of excessive internet usage, often leading to feelings of fatigue and dissatisfaction.

In the segment on time wastage, the team illustrated various examples from real-life situations to emphasize the issue.
Here, an image from PUBG Mobile—the popular game from VNG—was showcased. This reference to the game highlights how gaming can be a significant contributor to time spent online, which can detract from productivity and personal well-being.

Furthermore, in another news segment, VALORANT was also discussed, revealing that the average time players spend “in-game†can range from 2 to 12 hours. This trend showcases the intense engagement of gamers and its potential negative impacts on mental and physical health.

Following this, VTV continued to raise awareness about the dangers of excessive gaming. The network presented various images and videos illustrating the detrimental effects of prolonged gaming on players. They encouraged parents to limit their children’s exposure to this form of entertainment to less than 2 hours per day to prevent potential addiction issues.
