Krafton Reports Revenue Milestone, Strong Growth in Mobile Gaming
In 2024, Krafton marked a significant milestone with a record revenue of 2.7 trillion Won (approximately 1.9 billion USD or 48 trillion VND), reflecting a 41.8% increase compared to the previous year. Notably, the mobile gaming segment made a substantial contribution, with revenues rising by 35.7%, reaching nearly 1.7 trillion Won (1.2 billion USD or 31 trillion VND). This achievement solidifies Krafton’s position as one of the leading gaming companies in the industry.

This impressive growth can largely be attributed to the PUBG brand, which has achieved an average annual growth rate of 20% over the past five years. The transition of PUBG Battlegrounds to a free-to-play model has significantly boosted player engagement and revenue. Revenue from PC gaming also reached its highest level since 2018, while Battlegrounds Mobile India has set new records for player count on mobile platforms.
PUBG IP as a Growth Driver
Although the PC gaming segment experienced faster growth (up 61.3%), mobile gaming remains the primary revenue source for Krafton, accounting for 62.4% of total revenue in 2024. In 2023, revenue from mobile gaming reached 1.2 trillion Won, indicating a robust growth trajectory.

Krafton’s CEO, CH Kim, emphasized that the company will continue to expand the PUBG IP while also exploring opportunities to develop new gaming brands to maintain its competitive edge. Additionally, Krafton is committed to leveraging AI technology to enhance the gaming experience, aiming to become a leading company in the global entertainment ecosystem.

One of the notable projects slated for 2025 is the RPG game titled Dark and Darker Mobile, which is expected to launch later this year. This title has already undergone testing in the United States and Canada on February 4, showcasing its potential to expand beyond the PUBG IP.

With a strategy focused on product diversification and expanding its IP portfolio, Krafton is well-positioned for strong growth in the coming years, particularly in an industry that is increasingly evolving with the aid of AI technology and the trend of free-to-play gaming.
