Obito is one of the most significant characters in the Naruto series, and he is among the best-developed characters throughout the story. Obito even serves as the direct catalyst for the immense struggles that Naruto and Sasuke face during their journey. Due to the necessity of hiding his identity, a notable aspect of this character’s design is his various masks.
Most people believe that Obito died during the Third Great Ninja War. After a serious encounter with his team, Obito sacrificed himself to save them from a collapsing cave.
However, it turned out that everything was part of Madara Uchiha and Black Zetsu’s plan to have a successor and assist Madara in resurrecting himself in the future.
After becoming Madara’s successor, Obito began to operate under this name and had to disguise himself as Tobi to infiltrate the Akatsuki organization. To do this, Obito wore a mask to conceal half of his face—a crucial detail regarding the true identity of this significant character.
However, this was not the first mask Obito used, nor was it the only one he utilized. By merging with White Zetsu to help his ninja team in peril (a distant plan of Madara’s after he was freed from the confines of his own destruction), Obito acquired his first mask.

Later, Obito donned a new mask when attacking the Leaf Village and rescuing Kurama, the cause of numerous ninja deaths, including Naruto’s parents. It was with this mask that he participated in the Uchiha clan massacre alongside Itachi.

Subsequently, the mask symbolically associated with Obito represents his inner turmoil. This mask was known as Tobi when he joined the Akatsuki.

In the final arc, Obito used a new mask when participating in the Fourth Shinobi World War. This mask combined elements of the Sharingan and Rinnegan.

However, before all these transitions occurred, before Obito was manipulated by Madara and Black Zetsu to set his destructive plan in motion, when he still aspired to become Hokage and save the world, he had another mask. This mask featured a simple design with glasses, as at that time, Obito did not need to hide his identity.
