In the universe of Naruto Shippuden, the Sharingan is an invaluable gift but also a formidable curse. The Sharingan is the unique bloodline limit of the Uchiha clan (only members of the Uchiha bloodline can utilize this technique). The nature of the Sharingan’s abilities ties closely to the emotional state of its user, often representing deep and intense feelings.
The standard Sharingan has three levels of evolution. After experiencing the three stages and undergoing a significant emotional event, such as the sacrifice of a loved one, the user’s Sharingan can evolve into the Mangekyō Sharingan.
Should the user meet the second condition of awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan and possess greater chakra potential than other clan members, they can then develop Susanoo. Susanoo grants the user immense power, allowing them to engage in both offense and defense. Notably, the complete Susanoo possesses strength comparable to a tailed beast.
To illustrate, let’s take the examples of Itachi and Shisui. Both are regarded as deities among the Uchiha clan, showcasing unparalleled abilities compared to their clan’s heritage. Both awakened their Mangekyō Sharingan at a very young age, enabling them to manifest a spectral warrior that envelops them in a protective aura. However, this ability can only form a Susanoo under specific conditions.
However, creator Masashi Kishimoto designed the complete Susanoo of Itachi and Shisui specifically for the game Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. This form has not yet appeared in any official anime series.
In the Naruto anime, Itachi’s Susanoo is quite formidable, wielding the Totsuka – a mythical katana that can seal spirits – in its right hand, while its left hand holds the Yata Mirror, which cannot be penetrated by any attack. On the other hand, Shisui can summon a green Susanoo with a right arm that wields a chakra blade.
The power of Itachi and Shisui’s Susanoo, while not entirely perfect, has already been shown to exert tremendous pressure on many strong opponents, and if depicted in their complete form in the anime, it would likely “add wings” to their already impressive abilities.
