Faker’s HoL Skin Faces “Pay to Win” Controversy
In the history of League of Legends (LoL), Faker is consistently recognized as the greatest player, boasting a remarkable record of championship titles. Therefore, the recent launch of the “Quán Vương” skin by Riot Games to celebrate Faker is highly significant, yet the implementation has sparked heated discussions in the community. In fact, even the price of the HoL Ahri skin, set at $500 (approximately 5 million VND in Vietnam), is incredibly low for such a high-profile release.

However, shortly after its launch, the HoL skin for Faker has not only faced backlash but also appears to have entered a chaotic phase. According to renowned streamer Vandiril, the HoL Ahri skin is experiencing severe glitches that may allow players to avoid detection by the game’s mechanics. By simply activating Faker’s emote with the Ctrl + 5 shortcut, players can exploit the game mechanics, which is something that may not be rectified by the game developers.

The Community Wants “No Advantage” from Faker’s HoL Skin
As soon as the video showcasing the super “bug” interaction of the Faker HoL skin was widely shared, it became a hot topic of discussion within the community. Many gamers were quick to criticize the $500 price tag for the skin, arguing that it has previously been a point of controversy for Riot Games. Moreover, some players even claimed that the “feature” of the skin is excessively rare, putting players who want to use the skin at a disadvantage, especially if they want to play competitively.

Given the significant backlash since its launch, Faker’s HoL Ahri skin has faced numerous challenges, both within and outside of League of Legends. Riot Games must consider and address these issues promptly to avoid potential negative consequences. If they fail to do so, Faker’s reputation could also be adversely affected, especially if these glitches persist or manifest in professional tournaments.
